The Alpine ibex — stambecco in Italian — climbs vertical rock faces that nothing else can reach. Not recklessly. Not in haste. With patience, precision, and a sure-footedness built over thousands of years.

That is the spirit of this business. We don't chase. We climb. We don't flip — we hold. We look for businesses that were built with care, by people who gave decades of their lives to them, and we carry that work forward with the respect it deserves.

Founded by Anthony Cappelleri — a Melbourne local with deep roots in Melbourne's north and west — Stambecco is built with a generational horizon. The name is Italian, a nod to Anthony's heritage, and to the family that gives this business its deeper purpose.

The ibex doesn't rest at the summit. It simply finds the next face to climb.

Three Pillars

Stambecco is not a typical acquirer. We are not a fund with a five-year exit mandate. We are a founder-operator buying businesses we intend to hold, grow, and eventually pass on. These three principles guide every decision we make.

01

Continuity Over Disruption

We acquire businesses that already work. Our role is to honour what the founder built, protect what makes it special, and grow it patiently. Sellers leave knowing their life's work is in respectful hands — and their staff, customers and community are looked after.

02

Defensive, Enduring Returns

Stambecco targets stable, recurring revenue businesses in essential services — the kind that weather downturns, outlast trends, and don't need to be reinvented. We are not here to speculate. We are here to build and compound over time.

03

A Family Legacy in the Making

Every acquisition is a brick in something that will outlast us. Stambecco is designed to be built up, held, and eventually handed to the next generation — not sold to the highest bidder. It is both a business and a family inheritance in progress.

What We're
Looking For

We target owner-operated businesses with strong recurring revenue, defensive characteristics, and established customer relationships — the kind that endure downturns, outlast trends, and don't need to be reinvented.

Geography is intentional. Melbourne's western and north-western corridors are underrepresented in the acquisition market, creating real opportunity for a buyer with local knowledge, genuine community relationships, and long-term intent.

We are flexible on deal structure and genuinely open to creative transitions — whether that's a clean handover, an earnout, or a period of working alongside the current owner. What matters most is finding the right businesses and treating their founders with the honesty and respect they've earned.

We're Looking For

  • Revenue in the $10M – $20M range
  • Recurring or strongly repeat revenue model
  • Owner ready to exit or begin transitioning
  • Located in Melbourne's north, north-west or west
  • Defensive, essential services — industrials, simple manufacturing, B2B services, healthcare
  • Strong local reputation built over years
  • A business the owner is proud of and wants to see continue

Let's Have
a Conversation

If you're a business owner thinking about what comes next — even if it's still years away — we'd genuinely love to talk. No pressure, no hard sell. Just an honest conversation about your business, your plans, and whether there might be a fit.

We also welcome conversations with accountants, brokers and advisors who work with business owners at or near this stage. Referrals are always appreciated and treated with care.

"We're not looking to acquire just any business. We're looking for enduring companies shaped by decades of dedication, where legacy matters as much as continued, thoughtful growth." — Anthony Cappelleri, Founder
